Meet Kate
Built from the same ground you stand on.
I grew up in a farming family. The kind of work where a season comes down to whether you put in the hours, made the right call when it mattered, and kept track of what was working. That’s the lens I bring to every set of books.

Rooted in real work
Farming taught me to count what matters.
I come from a farming family. Long before I was reconciling a chart of accounts, I was watching parents and grandparents track yields, inputs, and weather windows by hand — and make decisions that fed people based on what those numbers said.
Farming runs on systems. Plant on time. Water enough. Harvest before frost. Small business is the same shape. The difference between a good year and a hard one almost always comes back to whether somebody was paying attention to the numbers.
I started Farmwife Financials because I wanted to bring that same kind of attention — practical, no-nonsense, deeply respectful of the work — to the people who feed our communities and the small businesses that keep them running.
“You can’t make a confident decision about anything if you don’t trust what the books are telling you. My whole job is making sure the books are telling the truth.” Kate Link, Founder
What I believe
Good work done plainly beats slick work done loudly.
My clients aren’t looking for fancy dashboards. They want someone who picks up the phone, gives a straight answer, and sticks around long enough to understand the business. That’s the bar.
I take time with my clients. I learn the rhythm of their season, the names of their suppliers, the things that keep them up at night. The numbers tell a clearer story when you understand what’s behind them.

How I work
Plain, direct, warm, honest.
How the books are kept should match how the business runs. Here’s what working with me usually looks like:
- Plain language. If a 10th grader can’t follow it, I rewrite it.
- Recommendations, not just reports. If I hand you numbers, I’ll tell you what I think you should do about them.
- Warm, professional partnership. You should feel like you have a smart friend in your corner, not a stiff vendor billing the hour.
- Honest about price and scope. Every engagement is quoted up front. No surprise invoices.
Want to talk?
Send a note, mention what your business does and where the books stand right now, and I’ll get back to you with honest next steps, whether we’re a fit or not.
